Social Worker, Psychotherapist
Alexandra Zelic |
Hi, I’m Alex — a Registered Social Worker with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals navigating stress, trauma, addiction, and high-pressure work environments.
My more recent work has been spent focused on occupational mental health in policing; prior to that I sent several years in corrections, and public-safety settings. My career was built working in the addictions field helping adults, youth and families. I’ve also had the privilege of supporting first responders, frontline professionals, and individuals facing complex life transitions — often during some of the most demanding seasons of their lives.
I draw from evidence-based therapies like CBT and ACT, with more recent training in Polyvagal theory and grief and bereavment studies. More importantly, I focus on helping you understand your patterns, build sustainable coping tools, and feel steady again. Therapy with me isn’t about judgment or over-analyzing — it’s about clarity, skill-building, and restoring your baseline.
I value structure, measurable progress, and honest conversations. I also believe that people are far more resilient than they realize — sometimes they just need the right space to recalibrate.
If you’re looking for steady, grounded support — you’re in the right place.
My Approach
Steady. Structured. Practical.
Therapy at Baseline is collaborative, grounded, and paced to meet you where you are.
I use evidence-based approaches including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-informed and strengths-based frameworks, and psychoeducation focused on nervous-system regulation and resilience.
Sessions are focused on: understanding patterns (thoughts, behaviours, emotional responses), building practical tools that fit real-life demands, reducing overwhelm without minimizing experience, and supporting long-term sustainability, not short-term fixes.
